Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of entry level community services workers who support individuals
through the provision of person-centred services. Work may include day-to-day support of individuals in
community settings or support the implementation of specific community-based programs.
At this level, work takes place under the direction of others and supervision may be direct or indirect.
Work may take place in a range of community services organisations.

Entry Requirements

  • Suitable Language and Numeracy Skills
  • A Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • NDIS (Yellow Card)
  • An Australian Federal Police Check
  • A Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Pay a Co-Contribution Fee:
    • Concessional – $150
    • Non-Concessional $200
  • Duration: One year
  • Blended Delivery: Online via Zoom
    One Day per Week plus
  • 120 hours of Work Placement
  • Location: Online

Career Boost Program (Government Funding)

The Program delivers training designed to help individuals develop the higher-level skills necessary to secure employment, advance their careers, or progress to further education and training through related university or tertiary qualifications.

Eligibility Requirement

  • 15 years of age or over and no longer at school
  • A Queensland permanent resident
  • An Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant),
    temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
  • Not hold or be already undertaking a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification
  • (Certificate III qualifications completed whilst at school will not exclude you from accessing this funding)
